This coffee table was fully restored inside and out. As you can see in the pictures, I go through every inch of the table, making sure I fix any damage, and I use the same wood, glues, and techniques used back then to restore the table. When doing these restorations, I spend a great deal of time on them to get them right so they will last another 95 years. Feel free to contact me on our contact page and ask any questions
Side note about this piece.
While the original Duncan Phyfe pieces are valuable antiques, Mr. Phyfe's style became incredibly popular and was widely reproduced, especially during colonial revival periods in the 20th century (notably the 1930s-1950s).
This coffee table exhibits characteristics typical of the Duncan Phyfe style, likely from a 20th-century revival
In summary, this coffee table is not likely an original piece made by Duncan Phyfe himself but rather a later piece (probably mid-20th century) designed in homage to his influential Neoclassical style. It represents a popular interpretation of historical American furniture design.
