This chair was restored from the ground up. When I received the corner chair, it was in bad shape. I rebuilt one of the middle vase-looking pieces; the chair was not level either. The staining and finish by itself took me a good while. I stained the chair with Cabernet Wine Red Mahogany pigment stain. I then went over the chair twice with tung oil and let it sit for 4 weeks. After making sure the tung oil finish dried, I went over the chair with a garnet red shellac and sanded between each coat. The grain just brilliantly shined, and this chair is absolutely beautiful and rich in color.
